Pitango Gelato began its smooth & creamy journey on Broadway in Fells Point ten years ago, being the only gelato establishment in Fells Point, and nearby neighborhoods, it quickly became a local favorite. Unique Flavors ranging from Cardamom to Matcha Green Tea really stole the show and keep customers coming back for more seasonal tastes!
2015 rang in a new location, with a new expansive plan - A BAKERY!
The Pitango family has created amazing sandwiches, pastries, breads, coffees, and salads! Its the perfect spot to write, meet friends, have meetings and its BYOB (they have charcuterie boards, perfect combo!) We also had the pleasure of tasting their new egg breakfast sandwiches, BOOM, my kinda sandwich!
The following are my favorites off of the Pitango Bakery Menu!
The Red: with arugula added (because greens, ya dig?) This sandwich consists of housemate bread with a lovely tomato caramelization on top, prosciutto, mozzarella, avocado, arugula, and a drizzle of olive oil.
Lemon Curd Tart: Mouth waveringly tart and sweet all a the same damn time!
Butter milk biscuit breakfast sandwich: fried egg with fresh asiago cheese, and salsa verde on a freshly made buttermilk biscuit
Croissant breakfast sandwich: baked fresh with arugula, red peppers, Parmesan cheese, salsa verde
Overall this bakery has delicious freshly made bread, pastries and sandwiches daily - this should be your go-to “lets grab a coffee and pastry” shop!
